With only 1/8 of a Chinese cabbage and a piece of deep-fried tofu, you can easily prepare “Umani (fried Chinese cabbage)” in a single frying pan. It is a thickened starchy sauce with the umami of soy sauce and kelp dashi, and goes well with rice. It comes with chicken, carrots, and leeks.

  • 1 sheet deep-fried tofu

How to cook

  1. Cut Chinese cabbage into large bite-sized pieces.
  2. Cut fried tofu in half lengthwise into pieces about 1 cm wide.
  3. Saute the Chinese cabbage over high heat for about 3 minutes, add the fried tofu and saute for about 1 minute more.
  4. Add this item and stir-fry for about 1 minute to coat the ingredients.
