TANMEN RAMEN!Let’s cook some easy and tasty Tanmen Ramen!

Tanmen Ramen is a noodle dish called tanmen. It is similar to ramen, but slightly different.
Ramen is available all over Japan, but tanmen is not as common.
Gifu Prefecture is famous for tanmen. It is located right in the middle of Japan.
Today, we will make a delicious noodle dish using Gifu tanmen, a bag of instant noodles from Gifu Prefecture.

Ingredients

  • Instant Tanmen Ramen: 1 bag
  • Cabbage: About 25g
  • Chinese cabbage: About 25g
  • Pork belly: About 25g
  • Water: About 450ml
  • chopped green onion: A little
  • Garlic: A little
  • Sesame oil: A little

Method

Pre-cooking

Cut cabbage and Chinese cabbage into bite-size pieces.
Cut pork belly into about 3 cm lengths. Chop garlic.

STEP 1

In a deep pan, add sesame oil and grated garlic and saute over low heat.

STEP 2

When the garlic has a nice aroma, add pork belly, cabbage, and Chinese cabbage and saute further.

STEP 3

When the meat is cooked and the vegetables are wilted, add water and heat over low heat.

STEP 4

When all is cooked, add bagged noodles and cook for about 3 minutes.

STEP 5

Turn off the heat, add the included broth at the end and mix well.

STEP 6

Serve in bowls, garnish with chopped green onions and the included spices, and serve.
